Using Futures-thinking to Make Better Decisions Today

3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. ET

Economic conditions, evolving generational expectations, and the transformative influence of emerging technologies like AI are impacting your ability to deliver meaningful programs and services. The landscape is further complicated by increasing turnover among members and sponsors, affecting your attendance and revenue streams. The question on everyone's mind: How can you, as dedicated volunteer leaders and staff, not only adapt but thrive in this ever-changing environment and navigate unforeseen events with confidence? By constantly scanning for weak signals and adopting a future-oriented mindset.

This session explores ways to cultivate a long-range perspective and lays the foundation for building the leadership skill of foresight. Delve into the principles of futures-thinking and understand how integrating these practices throughout your chapter can be a game-changer. Explore the practical steps to not just adapt to change, but to anticipate it, enabling you to lead your chapter with confidence into a future filled with opportunities.

A Four-part Framework for Building Value for Your Organization and Members

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. ET

Many times, associations continue programs without considering the components of each program: what is valuable to your audience; what can be sunset; what's working for your organization, what's not working for your organization? Rather than moving forward without consideration, there is a way to analyze what value levers should stay in your programming and which should not, no matter how much data you have to back it up. Discuss the four-part framework your association can walk through to confirm which value levers move your members, which do not, which are taking up too many organizational resources, and which are scalable so that you can efficiently deliver the right value at the right price.

Dr. Michael Tatonetti, CPP, CAE, Founder, Consultant and Speaker, Pricing for Associations

Capitol Hill Day

We encourage every chapter to take advantage of the opportunity to meet with your respective representatives and senators to voice NAIOP’s legislative concerns on issues important to the industry and establish relationships with new members of congress.

NAIOP will provide materials and education on the issues most pressing to our association and industry during CL&LR – but first you need to schedule your appointments.
